Smart-Up Lab 2019 Design ThinkingMay 15, 2019
Each year E-Lab Network gathers together in order to exchange lessons learnt and best practices in innovative education of entrepreneurship. In 2019, the E-Lab Joint Event was organized in Lodz, Poland. 25 students and 10 mentors from 8 different countries join the meeting in order to share knowledge, strengthen cooperation within the network and have some fun!
E-Lab Joint Event was 2-days workshop organized in Lodz, Poland on 19-20th November 2019. EIT Health Partners of the Entrepreneurship Lab network and supported students were invited to join the activity.
The aim of the event was to share knowledge, disseminate best practices within E-Labs and strengthen cooperation within the network.
During the E-Lab joint event students had an opportunity to:
- solve real-life challenges related to healthcare and education,
- work with mentors,
- create prototypes,
- learn how to pitch.
8 E-Labs participated in the event: POZE from Grenoble, MedTech from Erlangen, Co-up Lab from Stockholm, E-train from Uppsala, SMART-UP LAB from Lodz, H-Impact from Ghent, mHealth from Galway, Elab SU from Paris.
To have even bigger impact and involve new Partners we also invited students from Romania (Cluj-Napoca) that participated in the Smart-Up Lab programme as part of the Regional Innovation Scheme (RIS) coordinated by EIT Health Innostars (More info: https://eithealth.eu/project/regional-innovation-scheme-ris/
During 2-days workshops students created 5 interdisciplinary teams, each mentored by top notch mentors. The challenge that students were working on concerned how to improve education of innovation and entrepreneurship at Universities (as both Curriculum and Extracurriculum activities). Teams were guided by coaches using elements of Design Thinking, Service Design, Canvas. Each team had to prepare 2 prototypes of their innovative solutions which were then presented during Pitching Presentation in front of Jury. The jury consisted of: Agnieszka Rzeźnik – Head of TTO Medical University of Lodz, Jakub Borowczyk – Broker of Innovation Medical University of Lodz, Agata Wiśniewska – Expert of International Projects Medical University of Lodz, Piotr Makówka – Business Incubator, Pau Minnaro – EIT Health Education Manager UK/Ireland. The jury assessed the level of innovation and presentation skills.
During the E-Lab joint Event students had also a chance to play Escape Game created by E-Lab from Grenoble. Escape Game teaches how to work in teams, how to look for innovative solutions and most of all how to prototype. The aim of the activity was to disseminate results and knowledge between Elabs.
